Mitalee manages the Utah Industrial Energy Efficiency Challenge and is also involved in several policy and regulatory activities. Under her role at Utah Clean Energy she is working to ensure that renewable energy and energy efficiency play a significant role in Utah's long-term energy planning. She received her Master’s in Environmental Management from Yale University and also possesses a Bachelor's in Environmental Engineering from India. Mitalee has worked with international organizations such as the United Nations, where she worked under the Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) initiative with UNDP – Thailand. Before beginning graduate school at Yale, Mitalee worked as consultant with the Confederation of Indian Industry in New Delhi, India wherein she advised large-scale manufacturing firms on developing their Energy Management systems.
