Job Opening: Regulatory & Policy Associate

Description:  Utah Clean Energy is seeking a full-time Regulatory & Policy Associate to work on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and climate change issues. This position focuses on policy analysis/development, regulatory intervention, and providing technical support and data analysis on a variety of clean energy issues. The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Participate in utility regulatory proceedings, providing technical review and testimony in support of renewable energy and energy efficiency
  • Conduct research and analysis of energy and economic issues pertinent to policy and regulatory proceedings
  • Assist with the achievement of clean energy and climate change policies, including interaction with state officials, the Utah legislature, and other stakeholders
  • Review and provide comment on gas/electric utility demand-side management (DSM) programs and participate in stakeholder meetings
  • Provide analytical support for local policy briefs dealing with renewable energy, energy efficiency, and climate change
  • Other activities as assigned by Executive Director

Qualifications:  Applicants should have experience working on regulatory or energy policy issues for a utility, consulting or research firm, nonprofit organization, or government agency. Preference for individuals with a Masters degree and at least three years of experience, or Bachelors degree and at least five years of experience. Strong analytical, communications, and writing skills, the ability to work independently, and a personal commitment to a cleaner environment and sustainable energy future.

Compensation:
Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a benefits package, as well as the opportunity to work in a relaxed environment close to numerous recreation opportunities in Utah.
