02/09/2010 - 7:30pm
Location:

Hinckley Caucus Room

Event Host/Sponsor:
University of Utah Hinkley Institute of Politics

Utah Clean Energy Executive Director, Sarah Wright will join Jason Berry, Manager of Utah State Energy Program; Renee Zollinger, Environmental Manager of Salt Lake City Corporation, and Alex Parvaz, Student Activist, on an interactive panel discussion as part of the University of Utah’s Focus the U on Climate Change outreach campaign. The event will explore questions such as: What are local governments and non-profits doing to create climate change policy? What are the projected goals of handling these changes? How can our universities and colleges play a role? How can students and community members get involved to help make positive change?

This event is a part of the University of Utah’s Focus the U on Climate Change, a week long awareness campaign and teach-in. Focus the U a part of the larger National Teach-In effort that will take place at campuses across the United States that week. Faculty, students and the larger U community will be exploring Climate Change in the classroom, through art, film screenings, and shared discussions.

The panel will be moderated by Kerry Case, Director of the Environmental Center at Westminster College.

Sponsored by the Office of Sustainability and the Hinckley Institute of Politics.
