Put On Your Running Shoes to Support Air Quality Solutions
Back in 2012, local outdoor enthusiast, Jared Campbell, had an idea to raise money in support of local air quality solutions by racing to the summit of Grandeur Peak (at 8,299' elevation) and back as many times as possible in one (long) day. On February 12, 2012, Campbell set out on his adventure, ultimately reaching Grandeur Peak 10 times over the next 21 hours, and voila, the "Up For Air" series was born!
Fast forward to 2020, and this endurance race now includes two challenges, Running Up For Air (RUFA) and Climbing Up For Air (CUFA) held in Salt Lake City, Ogden and beyond! Hundreds of runners and climbers participate in the challenges, raising money and expanding awareness for clean air. Utah Clean Energy is proud to be one of the local nonprofits that benefit from these extraordinary events. The 2020 Running Up For Clean Air is set for February 21 - February 22, 2020, directly followed by the Climbing Up for Clean Air events on February 23 at the Front Climbing Club in Salt Lake City and Ogden.
