Unlocking Equitable Solar in Salt Lake City’s Westside

Solar energy is taking off in communities across the country, however, solar remains elusive in many of our underserved communities. To help bridge this gap, Salt Lake City Sustainability, Utah Clean Energy, and Suazo Business Center are working to create pathways for commercial solar and/or storage in Salt Lake City’s Westside.

The project aims to bring together business representatives from Glendale, Poplar Grove, Rio Grande/Downtown, and Rose Park neighborhoods to explore the barriers to solar adoption and co-develop strategies to make solar and storage more accessible for businesses on the Westside.

Calling All Westside Businesses: We Need Your Feedback

Central to the success of this initiative is to collaborate with as many business representatives from these communities as possible. If you represent or know a business leader located in the above communities, we want to hear from you.

About Solar Energy Innovation Network (SEIN)

The Solar Energy Innovation Network (SEIN) program helps communities develop transformative approaches to adopting solar energy. Recently, project teams have set out to understand and address barriers to equitable solar adoption across the United States. SEIN is funded by the DOE Solar Energy Technologies Office and is led by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Watch this four-minute video to learn more about the latest SEIN projects.

NOTICE: WE ARE NOT A SOLAR COMPANY

We would like to clarify that Utah Clean Energy is not a solar company. We are a nonprofit organization that advocates for solar and other clean energy technologies, but we do not install or sell solar in any way.

Utah Clean Energy Association is not affiliated with our work. This is a sales group that despite our best efforts to get them to stop, continues to use our name in their advertising. We encourage you to report them to Google Ads as misleading. The company that reached out to you is likely a solar company that purchased your contact information as a lead. You may consider reporting that company to the Better Business Bureau for using misleading sales tactics also.

We apologize for any confusion this may have caused and appreciate your understanding.

Thank you,

The Utah Clean Energy team
