Exciting News: Meet Utah Clean Energy’s New Deputy Director

We knew we were asking for a lot in the hunt for our new Deputy Director. Finding someone with the perfect blend of leadership, strategic vision, climate expertise, and deep passion for Utah’s clean energy future was an ambitious goal. But when you set high expectations, sometimes you get exactly what you’re looking for.

Introducing Jennifer ‘Jenn’ Bodine as Utah Clean Energy’s new Deputy Director!

Utah Clean Energy’s success is built not only on our expertise but also on our unwavering commitment that failure on climate solutions is simply not an option. Jenn embodies that commitment. After a thorough candidate search marked by a deep applicant pool, we couldn’t have asked for a better match to help drive Utah Clean Energy’s strategic initiatives forward.

Jenn comes to us after 14 years as the Sustainability Manager at Weber State University, (WSU) where she and her team led transformative initiatives that cut the university’s carbon emissions by 40%, reduced water consumption by 28%, and diverted over 25% of waste from the landfill. Her leadership helped establish WSU as a trailblazer in energy efficiency and sustainability.

Beyond her professional credentials, Jenn also holds an M.S. in Natural Resources and an M.A. in Public Policy & Administration from The Ohio State University. And when she’s not championing clean energy solutions, you can find her hiking Utah’s beautiful landscapes, spending time with her two daughters and husband, or sitting back reading nonfiction or thriller novels.

Jenn started her role with Utah Clean Energy on January 13, 2025, and we’re already seeing the impact of her leadership. Her experience, strong leadership, and unwavering dedication to tackling climate change positions Utah Clean Energy to continue our nonpartisan, high-impact work for years to come. Please join us in giving her a warm welcome to the Utah Clean Energy team.

“I’m thrilled to join Utah Clean Energy and be part of such an impactful, solutions-focused team. The challenges ahead are real, but so are the opportunities to drive bold, lasting change. I’m eager to roll up my sleeves and work alongside this incredible group of people and our partners to accelerate clean energy solutions for Utah’s future.”

NOTICE: WE ARE NOT A SOLAR COMPANY

We would like to clarify that Utah Clean Energy is not a solar company. We are a nonprofit organization that advocates for solar and other clean energy technologies, but we do not install or sell solar in any way.

Utah Clean Energy Association is not affiliated with our work. This is a sales group that despite our best efforts to get them to stop, continues to use our name in their advertising. We encourage you to report them to Google Ads as misleading. The company that reached out to you is likely a solar company that purchased your contact information as a lead. You may consider reporting that company to the Better Business Bureau for using misleading sales tactics also.

We apologize for any confusion this may have caused and appreciate your understanding.

Thank you,

The Utah Clean Energy team
