Gardner Institute honors Sarah Wright with “Informed Decision Maker of the Year” Award

Each year, the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute recognizes individuals and organizations that play a vital role in advancing the prosperity of our community. These honorees often carry out essential work behind the scenes, without seeking recognition. Designated as Informed Decision™ Makers, they are selected based on criteria that reflect the Institute’s core values. This recognition celebrates those whose meaningful contributions frequently go unnoticed, yet exemplify a strong commitment to informed decision-making. For 2026, the Gardner Institute is proud to honor Sarah Wright  as an Informed Decision™ Maker of the Year.

As the founding CEO of Utah Clean Energy, Sarah Wright is a pioneer in advancing clean energy policy and sustainability in Utah. Under her leadership, the organization grew from a small volunteer startup into a respected, independent clean energy organization that works closely with utilities, businesses, policymakers, and community partners across the state. Her exceptional leadership fosters collaboration, emphasizing transparency and education. In 2021, she led the design and launch of the Utah Climate & Clean Air Compact, bringing nearly 200 leaders from business, faith, government, and civic institutions into a practical, accountable framework for coordinated action. Through her efforts, she positioned Utah  as a leader in innovative energy solutions.

NOTICE: WE ARE NOT A SOLAR COMPANY

We would like to clarify that Utah Clean Energy is not a solar company. We are a nonprofit organization that advocates for solar and other clean energy technologies, but we do not install or sell solar in any way.

Utah Clean Energy Association is not affiliated with our work. This is a sales group that despite our best efforts to get them to stop, continues to use our name in their advertising. We encourage you to report them to Google Ads as misleading. The company that reached out to you is likely a solar company that purchased your contact information as a lead. You may consider reporting that company to the Better Business Bureau for using misleading sales tactics also.

We apologize for any confusion this may have caused and appreciate your understanding.

Thank you,

The Utah Clean Energy team
